What are sativa autoflowers?

Our sativa autoflower strains combine carefully selected sativa genetics with stable autoflower lines to produce plants that retain the uplifting character and growth associated with traditional sativas, while flowering automatically without changes to the light cycle. Over the years we’ve focused on selecting and refining plants that stay more manageable in size while still delivering the flavour, aroma and effects growers expect from quality sativa genetics.

What Makes Our Sativa Autoflower Strains Different?

When we’re selecting plants for our sativa breeding programme, we’re looking for more than just speed. We want genetics that retain the uplifting character, vigorous growth and terpene profiles growers expect from classic sativa cultivars, while remaining compact enough to fit comfortably in a modern grow tent. Achieving that balance has been one of the biggest focuses of our breeding work over the last 15 years.

Why Choose Sativa Autoflower Seeds?

If you enjoy the uplifting characteristics of classic sativa strains but don’t want to wait 16–20 weeks for a harvest, sativa autoflowers offer an excellent alternative. By combining carefully selected sativa genetics with stable autoflower lines, we’ve developed plants that flower automatically, finish much sooner and remain easier to manage, while still producing the flavour, aroma and effects growers expect from quality sativa cultivars.

One of the biggest changes we’ve seen over the years is how much modern sativa autoflowers have improved. Earlier generations often required compromises in either potency or yield, whereas today’s genetics allow growers to enjoy classic sativa characteristics without sacrificing harvest quality or speed.

What do sativa autos look like?

In terms of appearance, the main defining characteristic you will see when growing our sativa autoflowers is their more open plant structure. Compared to our indica varieties, they generally produce longer internodes, narrower leaflets and long vertical growth during the early weeks. This allows light to penetrate further through the canopy while still producing excellent flower development by harvest.

They grow very fast during the veg stage and typically begin flowering in just a few weeks (3 to 4) after germination. This accelerated lifecycle allows growers to harvest much sooner than traditional photoperiod sativas.

How much do sativa autoflowers yield?

Yield varies considerably between cultivars, but under good growing conditions most of our sativa autoflower strains produce around 300–500g/m² indoors or 150–300g per plant outdoors. Some of our larger genetics comfortably exceed these figures when given sufficient root space, light intensity and time to develop.

What are the effects of sativa autoflower strains?

Sativa-dominant autoflowers are generally chosen by growers looking for more uplifting, energetic and clear-headed effects. While every cultivar has its own cannabinoid and terpene profile, this collection is aimed at growers who prefer the classic daytime characteristics traditionally felt with sativa genetics.

What is the fastest growing sativa autoflower?

If somebody asked us to recommend one fast-finishing sativa autoflower, Hi Jack Auto would be high on the list. When we developed Hi Jack we were looking to combine the vigour of Auto Pounder with the uplifting characteristics of Jack Herer and the proven performance of AK-47. The result is a fast-growing sativa autoflower that consistently finishes in around 10–11 weeks while still producing big yields and excellent resin production.

Growing tips for sativa autoflowering strains

One thing we’ve learnt from growing sativa dominant autoflowers over many generations is that they appreciate a little extra space to develop their natural structure. While they remain much more compact than traditional photoperiod sativas, many benefit from simple low-stress training to open up the canopy and improve light distribution. Under strong lighting and stable environmental conditions, these genetics consistently produce their best results.
